Docklet Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This policy covers the Android app Docklet (the "app") published on Google Play by Skerryapps ("we", "us"). It explains what the app accesses on your phone, what reaches us, and your rights. It describes the current version of the app.
In short
The app works on your phone. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it doesn't use the internet at all: Android doesn't let it connect, because it doesn't ask for internet access. The data it uses on your phone is not sent to us or to anyone else. What reaches us is what you send us yourself, and what Google Play makes available to every developer.
Who is responsible
Skerryapps, Malta, is the controller for the personal data described under "What reaches us". Contact: support@skerryapps.com
The data the app uses on your phone doesn't reach us, so we can't see, access or delete it. You control it on your phone.
What the app uses on your phone
This data is processed on your phone, to make the features you use work. It is not used for advertising or profiling, and it is not sold or shared.
- Usage access (optional, needed only for recent and frequently used apps). The app reads which apps you opened and when, and keeps its own limited history of this on your phone, to choose which apps to show. Pinned apps need no access.
- Accessibility service "Docklet: instant updates" (optional, off until you turn it on). It is used only for the app's own features: to update the dock as soon as you return to the home screen, and for a glass background, to capture the home screen behind the widget while the widget is hidden. Only the area behind the widget is kept, on your phone. It doesn't collect what's on your screen or what you type.
- Other apps' names and icons are shown in the dock as Android provides them.
You can turn off usage access and the accessibility service at any time in Android's settings.
Diagnostics on your phone
The app keeps technical logs on your phone to help find problems. They can include names of apps and widgets. They stay on your phone and reach us only if you choose to send them to us yourself, for example when asking for help. If you save a log to send it, it goes to your Downloads folder, where other apps with access to your files may be able to read it, so delete it when you no longer need it.
What reaches us
- Your messages. If you write to us, we get your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use them only to answer you and fix the problem you report.
- Google Play statistics and crash reports. Google Play gives every developer statistics, such as installs, ratings and reviews, and technical reports about crashes and freezes from people who allowed their phone to share diagnostics with Google. They contain technical details such as the device model and Android version, and as far as Google shows them to us, they don't tell us who you are. We use them to keep the app working and improve it.
- Reviews. The app may ask you to rate it through Google Play's own review window. Your rating and review go to Google Play under its terms.
- Purchases. If the app offers Pro, the purchase is made through Google Play. We receive what Google Play gives developers about an order, such as the order number, product, price and date, not your payment details. We use it to provide Pro, handle refunds and keep the records the law requires.
Google processes data on its own behalf as described in its privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Legal basis (EU and UK)
- Answering your messages: our legitimate interest in supporting the app, and taking steps you asked for.
- Statistics and crash reports: our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it.
- Purchases: performing the contract with you, and our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules.
How long we keep it
- Messages: as long as needed to help you and to keep a reasonable record of our support, and no longer than necessary. You can ask us to delete them earlier.
- Statistics and crash reports: for the periods Google Play keeps them.
- Order records: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
- Data on your phone: until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the personal data we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, or object to how we use it. Write to support@skerryapps.com. We will answer within the time the law requires. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you.
If you live in the EU or EEA, you can also complain to your local data protection authority, or to ours, the Information and Data Protection Commissioner of Malta: idpc.org.mt
We don't sell personal data.
Security
The app keeps its data in its private storage on your phone, protected by Android. No method of storage is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee the security of your data. It also depends on your phone, its lock and its software.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
Transfers
We use service providers, such as our email provider, that may process data outside your country, including outside the EU. In that case we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Changes
We may update this policy, for example when the app, the law or our services change. The new version will be published at this address with a new date. Where the law requires it, we will also let you know in a reasonable way, for example in the app.
